Press Release Body: London,UK-- November 29, 2007 - Playyoo, a social networking platform for creating and sharing mobile casual games, today announced that Thomas N. Burg, a thought leader with extensive experience in social software and new media, has joined Playyoo to lead the company's marketing and community building efforts. Burg has also served as managing director for eight years at the Center for New Media at the Donau-University Krems. He is the initiator and organizer of BlogTalk, the first European conference on weblogs and social software, and is a frequent speaker at leading events on the subject of internal and external communication via Web 2.0.
"Thomas has been heavily engaged in the social media sphere for years and his experience and vision will be fundamental to the development of the Playyoo community," said Chris Pelly, CEO of Playyoo. "We're looking to spread the fun world of mobile gaming to a whole new group of mobile users and let professionals and novices alike express themselves though their own games on a global stage."
"The Web 2.0 phenomenon has shown just how important it is to democratize the means of production - to enable everyone to create content and express themselves within a larger community," said Thomas N. Burg. "Playyoo is applying this philosophy to the once specialized area of mobile game publishing and I'm excited to be taking part in this revolution."
Playyoo's December launch will feature key innovations in the mobile casual game arena, including: easy game discovery and downloads, easy-to-use game creation tools, and social networking. Playyoo is sponsoring the Playyoo Game Contest, which offers approximately $40,000 USD in cash prizes and is open to independent mobile game developers using Adobe Flash Lite technology.
